Brief History of Francklyds

The name FRANCKLYDS represents my family. My parents’ names were Frank and Lydia. The name Franck includes my first child Cherub’s name in the middle, symbolized by the C in Franck. Lydia was my mother’s name, which forms Lyds. The A in Franck stands for Aaron, my second child, while the N represents my last child, Lynden Franck, who carries both my parents’ names. This is how we arrived at the name FRANCKLYDS— “The Founder”.

Francklyds began its humble journey in 1999 as an evening class with just two students at Mamprobi, near the Polyclinic. It was founded by Mrs. Nancy Afarkor Nettey (née Odoi). Due to the excellent performance of the students, more learners started enrolling, creating the need to establish a formal school.

In 2000, Francklyds evolved into a Secretarial School known as Francklyds Professional Training Institute, admitting only female students due to the nature of the courses offered. Enrollment increased significantly because of the school’s academic excellence.

After witnessing the success of female students, business courses were introduced in 2004, allowing male students to join. The school admitted 30 boys in the first term due to its reputation for discipline, neatness, and academic excellence. The boys performed exceptionally well.

By 2007, Francklyds expanded its curriculum to include Senior High School courses such as General Arts and Visual Arts, in addition to the Secretarial and Business courses. The school served the Mamprobi community for several years. However, being spiritually inclined, a revelation led to the decision to relocate to Kasoa to continue the school’s mission.

In 2012, Francklyds reopened at Kasoa – Ofaakor, continuing to train students in Senior High-related courses. However, due to the government’s introduction of free education, Francklyds Professional Training Institute transitioned into Francklyds School Complex in 2017.

Francklyds School Complex quickly became a household name in Kasoa – Ofaakor and surrounding communities. In 2020, the school’s first batch of students successfully sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E.).

Unfortunately, in 2020, the same year the first batch wrote their B.E.C.E., the Founder, Mrs. Nancy Afarkor Nettey, passed away. Her only daughter, Mrs. Cherub Dekumwine (née Adjei), took over as Proprietress of this noble institution.

In 2023, the name Francklyds School Complex was officially changed to Francklyds Integrated Tenacity School (F.I.T.S.) to reflect the school’s academic excellence and its international partnerships.

Today, Francklyds Integrated Tenacity School continues to excel in academics, Christian values, and extracurricular activities such as Cadets, UC Maths, and more.
